Durante el mes de abril concluyo el torneo interno de la Clase “A” en la modalidad de singles y dobles caballeros. En este torneo participan los mejores tenistas con los que cuenta en este momento el Centro Asturiano de México.
En la modalidad de singles caballeros se tuvo la participación de 26 tenistas para obtener al campeón y finalista en esta categoría. El sábado 13 de abril fue disputada la final entre José Emilio Gutiérrez R. y Manuel Flores García (El Rayo) resultando ganador el joven Emilio con parciales de 6/1 y 6/1 demostrando un juego de muy alto nivel. Cabe señalar que Manuel Flores es un jugador veterano del tenis el cual ha participado desde hace más de 30 años en diferentes finales de los torneos internos con destacadas participaciones y Emilio Gutiérrez es una joven promesa del tenis nacional de tan solo 20 años por lo que tiene un futuro promisorio en este deporte.
En la modalidad de dobles se tuvo la participación de 11 parejas quienes disputaron excelentes partidos para obtener a los campeones y finalistas. La final fue disputada el domingo 14 de abril por las parejas integradas por José E. Gutiérrez y Jorge Best contra Armando Franco y Juan Camarena. El resultado favoreció José Emilio y Jorge debido a un retiro por lesión por parte de Juan Camarena cuando el partido se encontraba empatado a 1 set por bando (6/1,3/6,3/0).
