Asturias es mi casa, de donde vengo
y lo que soy, mi todo y más, mi lugar favorito
en la tierra”. Para mí, este ha sido el
mejor viaje, y la mejor experiencia de
mi vida. El viaje no comenzó en Asturias,
o al subirnos al avión, ni siquiera en
las juntas, para mí el viaje comenzó en
el momento en el que escribí la primer
letra del correo, ya que ahí me di cuenta
de la importancia de amar, conocer y
sentirme orgulloso de mis raíces. Y el
viaje en definitiva lo logró.

El viaje cambió mucho la forma de
pensar acerca de mis raíces, puesto que
yo solamente había ido a los pueblos de
mis abuelos o a Llanes a la playa. Pero
nunca tuve la oportunidad de recorrer
y aprender tal y como lo hicimos: “3000
kilómetros por Asturias en dos semanas”.
Me encantó poder conocer de todo
acerca de Asturias. En el viaje aprendí
muchísimo acerca de arte prerrománico
y románico, como por ejemplo las
columnas sogueadas, o las pinturas de
la Iglesia de San Julián de los Prados. Me
llamó muchísimo la atención que Asturias
fuera una región con tantísima historia.
Desde la prehistoria, que observamos
en el museo de la prehistoria de Teverga,
o las Cuevas de Tito Bustillo, que conservan
en su interior una de las colecciones
de Arte Rupesrte más grande y antigua
del mundo.

En este viaje sentimos lo importante
que somos para Asturias, ya que tenemos
un lugar en el Museo de la Emigración
de Colombres o la importancia que nos
da la Junta General del Principado de
Asturias, hasta la visita no planeada a la
alcaldía de Colunga, ya que la Alcaldesa
Sandra Cuesta Fanjul nos invitó a los del
grupo a conversar con ella acerca de su
pasado en México y en el Asturiano.
Me encantó poder ver como era la
vida en Asturias hace unos años, como
vivían los pastores y agricultores del
oriente, o como era un día en la vida de
un minero asturiano, que lo vimos en
el Museo de la Minería y la Industria, y
que es un museo muy especial para
mí, porque mucha de mi ascendencia era de trabajadores de
mina, y además tiene un valor sentimental muy grande, ya que
mi abuelo me llevó al museo hace unos años con el grupo
de Así es Asturias de ese entonces. Igualmente me encantó
conocer la naturaleza asturiana, que se puede apreciar desde
los Lagos de Covadonga o incluso desde el avión, por algo se
llama “Paraíso Natural”.

Y como no, el viaje también tuvo visitas guiadas por las ciudades
más importantes de Asturias, Oviedo, la capital, Gijón y
Avilés, además de tener visitas guiadas por el magnífico estadio
Carlos Tartiere del Real Oviedo, y el Molinón (el estadio más
antiguo de España). Es por eso que el campo de fútbol del
Centro Asturiano se llama así, y Buenavista es el nombre del
segundo, el más recordado estadio del Real Oviedo.
Aprendimos como se hacen dos de los productos más
famosos de Asturias, la sidra, y el queso cabrales, dos productos
que se exportan a México y cuando los consumimos
nos hacen sentir, “un poquito del otro lado”. Además de que
comimos, muy pero muy rico todos los días.
Además de toda la cultura y aprendizaje, este viaje también
tuvo momentos muy divertidos, como por ejemplo el tradicional
descenso del Sella, o todas las “cascaritas” que jugábamos
en el albergue de Avín. Jugamos, reímos, cantamos, y aunque
no pudimos ir a una romería, Gaya y Mariana se preocuparon
por que pudiéramos tener momentos de fiesta, como las “mini
romerías” en el albergue de Avín.

Al principio en este viaje no conocía mucha gente, pero
como fue pasando el tiempo me fui haciendo amigo de todos,
nos reímos juntos, disfrutamos juntos y aprendimos juntos.
Este viaje cumplió su cometido, amar, y sentirnos orgullosos
de nuestra tierra Asturias.
Y para finalizar quiero agradecer a todo el equipo de Así
es Asturias 2019, a Gaya y a Mariana por soportar todas nuestras
locuras, a Borja y a Rafa, por llevarnos y traernos a todos
lados, sin importar si hubiera niebla o que el camino fuera muy
angosto, siempre a tiempo para cumplir con todas las cosas
del itinerario.

Y le quiero agradecer a Aurelio por trabajar arduamente
para que nosotros aprendamos y disfrutemos, y mucho más
importante, por cumplir el sueño de mi abuelo Juan de llevarme
al “Viaje del Asturiano” (así es como él siempre me lo
decía), yo sé que ambos lo llevamos en el corazón durante este
Así es Asturias. Y aún recuerdo verlo a él en la sala de su casa,
contándome historias del viaje mientras contaba los boletos
de avión o se escribía correos con Estrella. De verdad, gracias
Aurelio, lo aprecio mucho.

Muchas gracias por hacerme sentir un verdadero asturiano
y haberme enseñado que por más lejos que tengamos la raíz,
se puede florecer.
